Before closing: call each provider a week or two ahead with your closing date, the property address and a photo ID so service transfers into your name without a gap. Condo owners: some utilities, such as water, sewer, trash or cable, may be billed through the association. Ask Matthew what applies to your building.

Orange Beach Water Authority
25097 Canal Rd., Orange Beach. Office hours 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Sewer, Garbage & Recycling
City of Orange Beach
Garbage pickup is Tuesdays and Fridays, and recycling is every other Wednesday by zone. Garbage is billed with the sewer charge by the Finance Department, which also sets up new service.
Natural Gas
CMC Gas (Clarke-Mobile Counties Gas District)
Orange Beach office: 24831 Canal Rd. Riviera Utilities supplies CMC Gas wholesale in Orange Beach. Where gas service is available, CMC is who you call.
Internet & Cable
Mediacom & AT&T
Mediacom provides cable TV and internet in Orange Beach. AT&T offers Internet Air home internet. What you can get depends on the address, so check it with each provider.
Rental Owners: Orange Beach Business License. The city requires a business license to rent out a condo or house, even when a management company handles the rental. Licenses expire December 31 each year. Finance Department: (251) 981-6096 · City FAQ

1629 East 1st Street, Gulf Shores. The main number also takes 24-hour emergencies.

Riviera Utilities
Riviera’s Gas Department serves Gulf Shores directly. Main office: 413 East Laurel Ave., Foley.
Garbage & Recycling
Republic Services (city contract)
The city contracts with Republic Services for weekly residential garbage pickup. City Public Works picks up residential debris.
Internet & Cable
Mediacom & AT&T
Mediacom holds the city’s cable TV franchise. AT&T offers Internet Air and, at some addresses, AT&T Fiber. Check your address with each provider.
Ono Island
Unincorporated Baldwin County, Alabama
Garbage Service
Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin County
Garbage service is mandatory in Baldwin County. The SWDA has its own application for Fort Morgan and Ono Island.
Water, Sewer & Fire
Ono Island Water, Sewer & Fire Protection Authority
The island has its own public authority, with a board appointed by the Baldwin County Commission. The authority has no public phone or website of its own. For account setup, contact the Ono Island Property Owners Association (number below) or ask Matthew.
Hurricane Re-Entry
Re-entry passes
Per the City of Orange Beach, Ono Island owners get hurricane re-entry passes from their Property Owners Association.
Perdido Key
Escambia County, Florida

FPL (Florida Power & Light), Northwest FL
Formerly Gulf Power. FPL’s tariff lists unincorporated Escambia County in its service area. Phone hours are 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.
Water & Sewer
Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA)
9255 Sturdevant Street, Pensacola. Office hours 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Garbage & Recycling
ECUA Sanitation
ECUA collects residential garbage, recycling and yard trash throughout unincorporated Escambia County.
Internet & Cable
Cox Communications (now Spectrum)
Cox holds a Florida state cable franchise covering Escambia County. Check your address on the provider’s site.
Property Tax & Homestead
Escambia County Property Appraiser & Tax Collector
In Florida, you file homestead exemptions with the Property Appraiser (online filing is available). The Tax Collector sends property tax bills and takes payments.

Escambia County
Perdido Key is unincorporated, so the county handles permitting and emergency management.

Baldwin County Revenue Commission
Homestead exemptions and assessments. The Foley Satellite Courthouse is at 201 E. Section Ave., Foley.
Wind & Hail Insurance
Alabama Insurance Underwriting Association (Beach Pool)
Wind and hail coverage for eligible Baldwin and Mobile County properties south of the 31st parallel when private coverage isn’t available. You apply through an AIUA Authorized Agent. If your property is in a flood zone, AIUA requires flood insurance.
Recycling Drop-Off
SWDA CHaRM, Orange Beach
Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials at 22510 Russian Road, off the Baldwin Beach Express. It takes paint, electronics, batteries and more for a small fee.

Citizens Property Insurance Corporation
For Perdido Key and other Florida properties: Florida’s state-created property insurer. Ask your agent whether a Citizens policy fits your property.
Flood Insurance
National Flood Insurance Program (FloodSmart)
Standard homeowners policies usually don’t cover flood. If you need help finding your flood insurance agent or carrier, call the NFIP.
